Have you ever wondered why you react so strongly to certain situations, find yourself overthinking, withdrawing or feeling overwhelmed? Perhaps you’re left feeling confused, ashamed or frustrated with yourself, wondering why you responded the way you did.
Sometimes the way we respond to situations is influenced by experiences from our past. Our nervous system can learn patterns of protection that continue to show up in our everyday lives, even when they’re no longer helpful.
This gentle, five module course invites you to explore those patterns with curiosity and compassion, rather than criticism.
You find yourself overthinking conversations, replaying what you said or wondering what others think of you.
You struggle to say no, often putting other people’s needs before your own, even when you’re exhausted.
You sometimes become defensive, upset or overwhelmed by situations that others seem to brush off.
When things feel too much, you withdraw, shut down or find it difficult to express how you’re feeling.
You can be incredibly understanding towards others, yet find yourself being your own harshest critic.
Across five thoughtfully designed modules, you’ll explore the connection between your past experiences, your nervous system and the patterns that influence how you think, feel and respond today.
With gentle explanations and opportunities for self reflection, you’ll begin to understand yourself from a place of curiosity and compassion, rather than judgement and criticism.
Module 1: Why Do I React the Way I Do?
Explore why certain situations can bring up strong emotional responses and how experiences from your past may influence the way you react today.
Module 2: Understanding Your Nervous System
Discover how your nervous system responds to stress, why you might move into fight, flight, freeze or fawn, and how recognising these responses can help you understand yourself.
Module 3: Understanding Your Protective Parts
Explore the different protective parts of yourself and how they may have developed ways of keeping you safe, even when those responses are no longer helpful.
Module 4: Supporting Yourself With Compassion
Discover gentle ways to support your nervous system, create space between a trigger and your reaction, and approach difficult emotions with greater understanding.
Module 5: Why Understanding Changes Everything
Bring everything together and explore how self-awareness and compassion can help you develop a different relationship with yourself, creating opportunities for new choices and responses.
The course includes five video lessons and accompanying reflective workbooks, giving you the opportunity to explore what you’re learning and relate it to your own experiences.
You can work through the course at your own pace, taking the time and space you need.

Hi, I’m Juliette Haverly, a certified hypnotherapist, positive psychology practitioner and trauma informed coach.
Through my work, I’ve seen how easily we can become caught in patterns of overthinking, people pleasing, emotional overwhelm and self criticism, often without understanding why.
I created this course because I believe that understanding ourselves is such an important part of creating meaningful change.
My approach brings together an understanding of the nervous system, subconscious patterns and compassionate self-reflection. Rather than focusing on what’s wrong with us, I encourage curiosity about what we’ve experienced, what we’ve learned and how we can begin to relate to ourselves differently.
My hope is that this course helps you develop a deeper understanding of yourself, with greater compassion and less judgement.
The ways we respond to the world often have roots in experiences we may not fully understand. What can feel confusing or frustrating today may once have been an important way of protecting ourselves.
When we begin to recognise this, we can start to lessen the judgement we place on ourselves and make room for curiosity, compassion and understanding.
You don’t need to have all the answers. Sometimes, simply beginning to understand yourself is where meaningful change starts.
